Shrine of the Dragonsingers
An ancient monument constructed by the Dragonsingers. Found in the Maethe region of the Land of Aginrese. Placed most of the way up a mountain on a plateau that juts out. The shrine, perhaps embodying the traits of its bygone people, still stubbornly stands despite damage and time. Most of the damage is believed to be due to an assault, not time. It was a shrine that is open to the air. The mountain walls enclosing part of the plateau are formed of different colored bands of rock. They have been smoothed and partially carved out by hand.
Surrounded on two sides by crumbling walls made from an unknown kind of rock. Parts of intricately carved reliefs still decorate the walls and floor. Not many can be made out. Of those that are, most of them are depicting designs related to the Aginrese people or dragons. The remains of gem adorned decorations lay broken and scattered along the space. Plant life covers some of the shrine. Mainly the walls and through the floor. Strangely, all but the lower rim of the dais itself is left untouched. It also appears to have no place for seating.
The main centerpiece of the space is a dais that is large in height, length, and width. It rests on one of the non-walled sides, on the other side from the cave entrance and close to the edge of the plateau. It overlooks steep cliffs, canyons, and mountains. A cave with some man-made tunnels leads from the plateau to an entrance near the foot of the mountain.
Legends say that it was once used to summon Sky Sovereigns, also known as high dragons, to the Aginrese people for many purposes. It's still held as sacred to the Aginrese today. It is taboo to the Aginrese for one to tamper with or damage the revered site.
