The Tempest

The Tempest is a region of space where Paths form terrible rapids and spiral into a destructive cyclone across the sky which never fades. Although "the Tempest" is commonly used, it is also known by other names, such as "the Cyclones", simply "Tempest", or "the Storm". It is largely uninhabited, as venturing into the storm is considered near suicide. However there are civilizations upon the edges of the storm which have legends surrounding its contents. Many such myths involve the eye of the storm in some way. Some believe it to be the home of their gods, while others believe a great treasure awaits the voyager skilled and brave enough to make it there, while yet again others claim it is a place of eternal torment where one might find but the souls of the damned.
