Session 16: May's Departure

General Summary

Session nr.16 05/04/2022   Tuesday, 5 April 2022 19:54   Sylveras sends out his raven to check up on whatever is approaching the party. Crazy, a raven that Elthé had summoned, begins to... Moo everyone awake. Looking through his raven's eyes, Sylveras sees what can only be described as if someone tried to make a human being from a mould using only the skeleton as a base, lacking a lot of features. As it walks, it leaves behind a trail of dead plants, as if it seeps the life out of each and every single one of them. As everyone gathers their bearings, they confront the being, that now has arrived at their camp. It addresses Finn directly, thanking him in the name of his master. He tells the party he is the first of the siblings, and they are here to claim the power that sleeps in the core of the world. Elthé then uses her magic to charm the monster, and begins to become friendly with it. Despite the fact it is unable to fully explain concepts, resorting in folding its strange skin to describe things, Elthé does learn a few things. Wherever this being is from, the master he refers to was chosen from the planet they hail from. A planet with no name. Elthé names the being "@Steve".   Steven goes on to claim he will use Finn as an anchor to pull his siblings into this world. Realising there is no other option, and recognizing the master as the being that caused the illusions of the mansion first to Ruyi, Lucién and Dust, then later again to everyone when they took the StarFruit, Finn turns to the being and refuses to assist him nor his master. He gives the being a chance to leave, but it claims it can't. At that point Finn draws his weapons, and a rather long battle ensues. The being entangles a few of the casters, draining them of their life force to keep itself alive, as an enlarged Markys and a Demise-wielding Finn hack and slash away at it. After a long, long fight, the being falls, apologizing to his siblings, and claiming it is now up to them.   The party moves on. Finn tells the party about why that creature appeared, and how there are many strong individuals seeking their way onto Joran to acquire the founder's weapon that lies in God's Haven. Ukhbran speaks up again, telling Nariko about Ruyi and the other old members of the group who left, complaining about them a lot. Elthé then brings up a few more precise things about Ukhbran himself, who is surprised that Elthé is more knowledgeable of him than anyone, even mentioning what he recalls is an "alternate timeline". Ukhbran asks Elthé how she knows deep speech. She brings up that she obtained it in a week, and doesn't elaborate further. As the party travels for days on end, they being to reach the location The Everglade is supposed to be. Demise tells Finn that while he was linked to Dust, he could see into his memories. With that knowledge, he guides Finn to the entrance of The Everglade.   They enter the cavern and after a long way down and entering a rather magical door, they reach what can only be described as an underground paradise. Despite the harsh colds above, this place is teeming with life, light and fresh water. A large, beautiful tree is sitting right in the middle, giving shade to those underneath. People are wandering, wearing the same clothing and looking oddly at the strangers that have just entered. Not wasting another moment, Finn seeks out the first monk, an elderly man sitting on a bench, and asks to see Wisteria, the woman that taught Dust her philosophy. He points him to her location, and he enters the room with Nariko, Sylveras and May, as Markys, Zula and Elthé wait outside.   Inside, Finn introduces himself to Wisteria. Finn explains why he has come, and how Dust, or rather Tendrin, had told him about them and where they were located. He tells her of Tendrin's death, and how he was told of her philosophy. He asks her if they are able to look after May for him, and though she seems a bit reluctant at first, eventually accepts his request. However, he is not to return until he can surely take care of the child. Finn thanks her, and squads down to May. He hands her the friendship bracelet Ruyi had made for him, telling her to hold onto it so he can find her again in the future. He tells her to be strong, and not to forget them. After a good long hug, he takes his leave, Nariko and Sylveras following behind.
