Session 7: Suicide by Honesty

General Summary

The party wakes up in the Bloliday Blin, all except Adalai. Ruuch Caliban meets up with Lydia Rhapsody and Usze'Taham who're downstairs eating breakfast, still kinda tipsy from yesterday. As soon as Ruuch hears Adalai still isn't back he rushes out like a worried mom to find him. He steps outside to meet Adalai accompanied by a 6'6 foot tall robed man with a ram skull mask carrying a jar containing a centipede with a giant eye in his forehead, it's a Nahiki. The nahiki takes on a French accent and makes bad quips at Ruuch. The robed figure introduces himself as Rashall, the demigod. Rashall meets the rest of the group and asks to join the party, we agree and move to the lab, as Lydia had some questions about the gemstone that was bought in her sister's jewellery shop. On our way Ruuch inspects Adalai with detect magic, Rashall notices and says he smells like something other than druid. Ruuch says it must the the lvl 1 cleric dip. We arrive at the lab and Lydia, Ruuch and Usze head in. We find our way to Thelnas, the chief scientist of this lab that bought the gemstone off Lydia's sister. Thelnas has recollection of Lydia's sister and knows her whereabouts, she's currently in Traskarr near a cemetery with a Blue Eye. The scientist also is a nahiki, the brother of the nahiki that took over Franscois's body. We thank him for his time and move along. Meanwhile Palanthus went over to the old lab she used to stay in as a subject, It's completely gone. She asks Usze if everyone to be trusted and urges him to prioritize his own safety over all the others because of Lucia. With that she gives him a mirror of the past to unravel the past of places items and people.   We encounter 3 hovering figures, mind flayers, zapping a puddle of Sludge. We decide to help them and together defeat the sludge puddle. The mind flayers then greet Usze enthusiastically, as they met in the maze once. They are here in collaboration with the Fey to stop the sludge from coming to our realm. Ruuch notes that it's weird for mind flayers to not be all over our brains, one of them informs us that they are on a diet of substitute brain meat. On our way we converse about the "Blue Eye" and Ruuch notes that there are many eyes. The one in Presco is for protection, but the blue eye is for destruction.   The party gets bored and Lydia has a dance-off with Usze in the cart and wins. As nighttime falls Ruuch chooses to be alone for a bit. The group notices something is bothering him and so send Lydia to enquire about his state of mind. Lydia tries to initiate conversation but is getting hardcore ghosted. She then tries to impress this 50+ year old wizard by making tiny fireworks with the prestidigitation spell, which interrupts his peace of mind. With him being highly annoyed Lydia asks what's up with him, he then tells her that he is worried for his family and doesn't appreciate us joking about when there's a full-on war going on. Lydia explains people's spirits should be held high in times of war and so she jokes instead of despairs. Palanthus steps in and quells our conversation. We all agree that we best get some sleep for the next day.   Lydia and Usze rest in the Tiny hut. Palanthus, Adalai and Ruuch stay outside. Adalai walks with Rashall and Rashall tells him about his mother and how she was killed by someone from this realm. When Usze and Adalai were in the maze dream they both worked together and slayed a dark goddess so that they could escape. Adalai admits he was the one to do it, but did not mention Usze. Rashall approaches Adalai and promises he will kill him, but not yet. He must first talk to his uncle, Hassy. After that he will kill everyone else involved and finish the job with Adalai. He storms off but Ruuch notices him walking past the camp and asks where he's going. To Presco, Rashall replied.   The next morning, while Adalai is still meditating somewhere in the forest, we converse about how he doesn't seem right. We compile all the stuff that bothered us with him since he made the trade with Hassy for Usze's resurrection. Usze mentions that inside the maze Adalai "died" by being eaten by The Warden. After walking around in the maze he found a box of flesh which he took with him. He met Adalai's water spirit which was standing close to a pool, pointing at it. Usze looked into the pool and got pushed/fell into the water. While inside he saw the remains inside the box mould into the shape of Adalai. The water spirit dove into the water to rescue them both and had her blue color fade to red. She then returned into him amulet. Lydia admits she knew that Adalai attacked Presco when he was inside the heart of Presco and seemed processed while doing so, she was also told not to let Adalai know that she knew.   And so Usze decides to tell Adalai we know all this about him, and he in return tells us what happened between him and the demigod. Quickly afterwards Adalai gets contacted by Hassy and informs him that to take care of his debt for Usze he must go to a factory outside Trascarr, an old drill plant. A great beast hides there, but crystal creatures hold him in containment. They are attempting a mind link, and he must prevent it from happening at all costs. He must kill the crystal creature in charge of the mind link, but not before the link is completely severed. So he must head inside their minds and not kill anyone before the link is broken.   On the way to Trascarr Palanthus says that we need not approach it head-on, so Ruuch sends his hawk to scout. The city is shattered. There's a war between the crystal creatures and the sludge. No humans in sight, only eldritch nightmares. Lydia and Ruuch make everyone invisible and we head into the city to search for the cemetery where the blue eye is located. Inside we are greeted by the sight of corpses being ravaged by ghouls, clockwork soldiers tearing metal off of walls and sticking it to its chest, things that look like humans but are then split down the middle revealing rows of teeth.   The party splits up, which is the worst mistake ever. Ruuch and Usze made their way to the cemetery safely due to their familiars. Lydia and Adalai however, wandered aimlessly around the city. Ruuch casts sending and asks us individually for a response. Adalai responds with; "I'm lost" with 23 words to spare. Lydia responded with; "I see a library, ask the eye in the graveyard for help. Also sludge be wildin' while she waits patiently for them to find her. Ruuch and Usze both go to find their party members. Eventually they arrive at the library and Ruuch casts mould earth to attracts Lydia's attention, as they are both still invisible and shouldn't speak because it could alert the wrong type of creature. Upon seeing that Lydia says "Hello?" and promptly alerts the whole of Traskarr to their presence. A chase ensues while a giant monster with a sword tail tries to cut us down. Ruuch uppercuts it by moving the earth beneath him.   ########### EDITORS NOTE: A hurricane starts to form around the creature, and Ruuch wanted to absorb the elemtents.   Adam's quote of the day: "A hurricane is wind, and wind is just fast air."   DM ruled: no u can't succ air, but u can punch it with rocks. ##########   We barely escape with our lives and then suddenly a golem gets smashed through a bell tower and rubble went flying our way, almost killing Usze. Somehow we survive the torturous journey back to the cemetery. Usze casts light on Ruuch's hawk and sends it up. Adalai sees it as a sign and also finds his way to the cemetery. We all recuperate and head downstairs and when we do, we hear one word; "father?"
