The Lifeless Sea

This sea is dead. It has not moved or created waves in fifty years. Lifeless Sea is where Avron is from. And was greatly affected by the fading of the gods. Now instead of being a calm and relaxing place to go for vacation, it is a place where people go to die. A place that emits death right up to the sea's shores.

Geography

The Lifeless Sea is on The World's northern borders. It is about 467 mi. (750 km) wide and is fairly warm. However, because there is no wind and the world is not spinning there are no waves, therefore it is called the Lifeless Sea or the Dead Sea.    Now that the sea can no longer move everything around it smells an awful stench. This is because when a sea animals dies it floats to the bottom of the sea, but because the sea has no currents the dead animals take much longer to decompose. The the toxins the dead bodies emit make the water poisonous. And the sea cannot fight or prevent those toxins because the sea has no current.   Besides the horrible stench that is emited from the sea, there is one good thing. The beach. The shore might not look white, but the sand is still soft and smooth. However, in recent years the shore has been getting rougher and larger rocks have been seen.

Ecosystem

The sea cannot create waves and that is the reason why many things die in this sea, and the living creatures in this sea are decreasing rapidly. The waters are becoming extremely toxic and killing off the fish, crabs, and any other creature that may have lived in that sea.   People who study the Lifeless Sea note that the fish and other animals that live in the sea are living only an average of five years. Larger animals die more quickly than smaller ones, and sharks and orcas are a hundred times more desperate to eat. The scientists specalte that if there was no stench and people went into the sea, they would be eaten in seconds.

Ecosystem Cycles

The cycles in this sea are very little. Many animals are forced to stay in this sea because of the larger temperature difference. If the animals travel to far south the water will get too hot and they will burn. If they go north they encounter colder waters and will freeze to death.   Instead of leaving this little sea some animals will go to a different sea with the right temperature and stay there before returning. The fish, dolphins, sharks, and other sea creatures will travel to different seas and oceans before returning to the Lifeless Sea.   However, less and less traveling is happening because the surrounding seas and oceans are experiencing the same thing the Lifeless Sea is.

Localized Phenomena

In this Sea, there was something in the water (or perhaps it was the god) that made the water glow. This glow never happened over the entire sea, just in a few places at a time. Sometimes it was an ombre of blue and green, other times it was a lazer-like look with obvious straight lines radiating out from a point, and other times it looked like a blue-green colored star.

Climate

The average temperature around the Lifeless Sea is about 75° F (24° C). In the sea however it is 100° F (38° C). This is about the temperature all year round, since the sea stopped moving.

Tourism

The Lifeless Sea, before it was lifeless used to have thousands of people visit it. There was something strange about the water, and people from all around wanted to see it. They wanted to see why the Sea glowed. Some people came for the science, some for the fun of it, others to see the tricks people could do with it. When The World stopped spinning the tourism stopped, and the very thing that attracted them died with the tourism. Near the Sea were several beach houses that people could rent, there also several hotels and restaurants people could eat at, many of them seaside.
