Parable of Wisdom

Two men walked together across the world. One man, a ruler who none would answer to. The other, a one eyed god. The man said to the god, “I have searched the length of these lands and nowhere is there a land free of strife. There are wars between nations, families - even the animals are not safe from conflict. You must tell me why” The god looked over the man and took his measure “Wealth and land. Life and freedom.” He paused then, meaningfully “A king’s lies.” This angered the man. “If that is the way of things, then a God must fix this, as only they can. End this suffering so we might live in peace!”
The god considered this for a moment. With a nod he answered “I shall do this - but I remember what you forget” His form dissolved into mist then but his final words echoed like thunder “Four of those reasons, you may still regret”
Years later the man called the god back. Prostrate and weeping, the man begged. “Look at what you have wrought! The creatures starve for lack of hunting or overeating the crops from our land. One lord rules over all the world and we are his slaves from birth. You must free my people!”
“Only by this was your wish fulfilled. Does he not give you truth and peace?”
“We starve and die at his command! We have nothing but peace. Please help us. I will do anything you ask of me.” “You must give back what you have taken. Walk the world again and tell your people what you have learnt”
By the end of the man’s journey, the world was overturned in war. There was no lord to be found in any land. Only then did the god return to the man for a third and final time.
“Go now. Feed the living and bury your dead. Rebuild and remember this when you think on war: what it is you are fighting for”
In doing this, The God of Storms gained a saint: The Saint of Wisdom
