Week 1

1. Areas of Focus

• Develop History of the World, specifically focused on the Kindling
• Further Describe the Town of Inglenook
• Define Magic and Technology systems (Pyromancy and Pyrotechnics)
• Fill in additional world building gaps that arise in relation to narrative needs
Smoldearth is being created as the basis for a story that I'd like to write. As such I've chosen areas of developemnt that I need to understand the state of the world, to understand the starting location of the story, and finally to understand the mechanics of what makes this world special. I hope that with these key areas defined I will be able to more confidently start drafting the opening to the story as well as beginin to develope other areas in the world that will become more important down the line.

Mini-Meta

Scope: Set the foundation of world building needed to begin writing a novel and have a clear direction of what to expand upon.
Theme: Fantasy, Death, Life, Fire
Drama: As the avalibility and understanding of a new and mysterious magic has been rooted in the world the people of the world face new challenges as the magic entertwines with their lives (and deaths)
Inspiration: Over the Garden Wall, Avatar the Last Airbender, Ori and the Blind Forest, English Folklore, Full Metal Alchemist

Week 3

Homepage

I hadn't created a home page yet so I wrote a short synopis/pitch of the world and added an image. I hope to continue editing this as I've written more about the world and have a better idea of a visual language to style the homepage with.

Week 4

Last Minute Prep

To prep for world Ember I spent the week reading/watching/consuming some additional Inspiration and doing some early preperation for the holidays to free up more time to write throughout the busy month of december. I also reorganized my office space and built new shelves to help declutter everything. Now with a hearty dose of holiday cheer, new inspiration, and a clean desk I'm ready to start writting away!
