Some of the savvier individuals among the merchants and traders founded a centralized banking and trade regulation group. The Federation of Free Finance had begun uniting to bypass and/or limit much of the High Regent’s control over trade, and cripple his ability to fund his army for an extended period of time. In the wake of his passing, the many merchants and traders began coming together to agree upon trade laws to prevent one wealthy individual from extorting the lives of those around them, again. Gold is the lifeblood of society. The Federation ensures that business practices follow established laws and that this blood never stops flowing.
