Minotaur (min - O - tar)

Minotaur culture is broken into two main factions the Minotaur and Bisonfolk, both have historically been associated with the natural world, as Minotaurs are often depicted as bull-headed creatures and Bisonfolk are anthropomorphic bison.   In this society, the Minotaurs and Bisonfolk live in harmony with the natural world, with a deep understanding of the rhythms of the seasons and the cycles of the land. They are skilled farmers and herders, using their strength and knowledge of the land to cultivate crops and care for their livestock.   The society is hierarchical, with the Minotaurs occupying a higher social status due to their strength and warrior-like nature. However, the Bisonfolk also play a significant role in the society, using their keen senses and deep connection to the land to serve as guides and protectors.   Religion plays a significant role in the society, with both the Minotaurs and Bisonfolk revering the natural world and worshipping deities associated with nature and the elements. Rituals and ceremonies are an important part of daily life, with the Minotaurs and Bisonfolk coming together to celebrate the changing seasons and to offer thanks to the spirits of the land. Typically, the spirituality portion of their society is led by the Bisonfolk   Overall, the society of Minotaurs and Bisonfolk is be a deeply spiritual and harmonious community, living in balance with the natural world and each other.    

Minotaurs

Minotaur Race Details Minotaurs are barrel-chested humanoids with heads resembling those of bulls. Blessed with a supernaturally strong sense of direction, minotaurs make great navigators. Some sages believe minotaurs were first created by the Lady of Pain to patrol the magical mazes that she uses to trap her foes.   Minotaur horns range in size from about 1 foot long to easily three times that length. Minotaurs often carve their horns to sharpen their edges, etch symbols of power into them, or sheathe them in bronze to prevent them from shattering during battle.   Thick hair extends down minotaurs’ necks and powerful backs, and some have long patches of hair on their chins and cheeks. Their legs end in heavy, cloven hooves, and they have long, tufted tails.   Ability Score Increases When determining your character’s ability scores, increase one score by 2 and increase a different score by 1, or increase three different scores by 1.   Languages Your character can speak, read, and write Common and Tohasean.   Creature Type You are a Humanoid.   Size Minotaurs tend to be larger than the average humanoid, typically standing at over 7 feet tall and weighing 350-450lbs. You are Medium.   Speed Your walking speed is 30 feet.   Horns You have horns that you can use to make unarmed strikes. When you hit with them, the strike deals 1d6 + your Strength modifier piercing damage, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.   Goring Rush Immediately after you take the Dash action on your turn and move at least 20 feet, you can make one melee attack with your Horns as a bonus action.   Hammering Horns Immediately after you hit a creature with a melee attack as part of the Attack action on your turn, you can use a bonus action to attempt to push that target with your horns. The target must be within 5 feet of you and no more than one size larger than you. Unless it succeeds on a Strength saving throw against a DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier, you push it up to 10 feet away from you.   Labyrinthine Recall You always know which direction is north, and you have advantage on any Wisdom (Survival) check you make to navigate or track.  

Bisonfolk

Bisonfolk are a strong and hardy people, with a natural affinity for the land and a deep connection to nature. They are a humanoid race with features resembling that of bison, including large horns and shaggy fur.   Bisonfolk have a natural resilience and physical strength, making them well-suited for roles as warriors, hunters, and defenders of their community. They have a natural resistance to cold and can move through difficult terrain with ease.   Ability Score Increase: Bisonfolk have a natural strength, wisdom and constitution, and their ability scores reflect this. They gain a +2 bonus to their Constitution score and a +1 bonus to their Strength or Wisdon score.   Languages Your character can speak, read, and write Common and Tohasean.   Creature Type You are a Humanoid.   Size Bisonfolk tend to be larger than the average humanoid, typically standing at over 7 feet tall and weighing 400-500lbs. You are Medium.   Speed Your walking speed is 30 feet.   Natural Armor: Bisonfolk have tough hides and shaggy fur that provide natural armor. They have a base AC of 12 + their Constitution modifier.   One with Nature: Bisonfolk are tied to nature in every aspect of their culture as such they are all know the cantrip Druidcraft.   Keen Senses: Bisonfolk have a keen sense of smell and hearing, allowing them to detect hidden or invisible enemies. They have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell or hearing.   Resilient: Bisonfolk have a natural resistance to cold, and they have advantage on saving throws against cold damage.   Herd Mentality:  Bisonfolk have a strong instinctual drive to protect and defend their community. When they are within 30 feet of at least two other Bisonfolk allies, they gain a +1 bonus to AC and saving throws. Additionally, when a Bisonfolk ally within 30 feet of them takes damage, they can use their reaction to interpose themselves between their ally and the source of the damage. The Bisonfolk takes the damage instead, and the ally gains resistance to that damage type until the end of their next turn.
