The N.A H.I.V.E
The North American H.I.V.E is located with the modern day country of the United States of America in the state of California and Nevada hidden under a series of moutains found within the desert of the two states. This acts as the centeral hub for Chimera found within the northern parts of the America's ranging from Greenland to Centeral America. Like all H.I.V.E's the North American one is centries old being founded far before the age of exploration even begun to be thought of. Due to it's isolation the North American H.I.V.E historically has only had close ties to South American H.I.V.E and a limited communication with the a few Asian and Polynesian H.I.V.E's.
Geography and Climate
The North American H.I.V.E is found in the Mojave Desert in state of California and Nevada in the United states. The Mojave Desert include the Tehachapi Mountains to the northwest, together with the San Gabriel and San Bernardino mountain ranges to the south. The mountain boundaries are quite distinct since they are outlined by the two largest faults in California, the San Andreas Fault and the Garlock Fault. The desert also contains the High Desert region. Extremes in temperatures throughout the seasons characterize the climate of the Mojave Desert. Freezing temperatures as well as strong winds are not uncommon in the winter, as well as precipitation such as rain and snow in the mountains. In contrast, temperatures above 100 °F (38 °C) are not uncommon during the summer months. There is an annual average precipitation of 2 to 6 inches (51 to 152 mm), although regions at high altitudes such as the portion of the Mojave desert in the San Gabriel mountains may receive more rain. Most of the precipitation in the Mojave comes from the Pacific Cyclonic storms that are generally present passing Eastward in November to April. Such storms generally bring rain and snow only in the mountainous regions, as a result of the effect of the mountains, which creates a drying effect on its leeward slopes. During the late summer months, there is also the possibility of strong thunderstorms, which bring heavy showers or cloudbursts. These storms can result in flash flooding. The North American H.I.V.E is found underground a series of mountain ranges within the Mojave National Preserve with a series of enterances allowing acess into the H.I.V.E. Within the H.I.V.E the Climate is artifically controlled with an artifical ceiling to which mimics the sky above the mountains along with articial sprinklers to simulate rain with the average temperature ranging around 70 °F (21 °C). The H.I.V.E merges it's city with that of it's envrioment being very ecofriendly with plenty of green spaces and appears like many other major cities within the United States with the College intergrated throughout. The temperature, sky and rain can all be controled and altered.
