Adlet

The Adlet is a monster of Sognian legend. No inhabitant of The Seven Holy Steads of Sognaland has ever seen one, and the The Scholars' Guild has found no evidence of their actual existence.
The Adlet is described a dog or wolf with human features. It can walk easily on two legs. At full height it reaches nearly nine feet tall. It can run quickly on all four legs for a short amount of time, but it prefers to walk bipedally.
These creatures are said to reside in The Nightlands. Only a Sognian sorcerer who practices dark magic may summon and control them. They prey not only on the animals of The Frostlands, but upon humans as well.
The Adlet is often used as a scare tactic to keep young Sognian children in order. It is said that, should a child misbehave, an evil sorcerer will summon an Adlet to the village.
