Amarok

Amaroks are legendary creatures of Sognian lore. They are wolves of incredible size, and are as tall as a full grown human. They are said to have traveled from the Nightlands during the Long Night of the World, and were ridden by the mythical Tekket people.
The Scholars' Guild had found no evidence that these creatures ever existed, and even the Sogni say they have not been seen since the end of the Long Night. Some Scholars do postulate that in ages past wolves grew to larger sizes and that tales of the Amarok are the memories of such creatures.
