Bears are known as the "lost generation" They existed since the first generation but over time the paper trail and records were lost in one way or another. Only in more recent times has it been made that they are actually a distinct family again. Bears have made tremendous feats in the name of science and vector kind, but those achievements are often shelved as being part of a team, despite other species of equal measure getting more distinguished achievements. This creates a baked in resentment for being in the shadow of the first generation, even though they were there all along.
