In Literature

Tlarion - Paladin of Uriel, the Arch Angel of Justice, Righteousness, Conviction, and Integrity. Born in a village razed by the Hells, Tlarion's life was a beacon of unwavering justice. His conviction was forged in the fires of adversity. His legendary quests were not just battles against foes, but also internal struggles to uphold the virtues of righteousness and integrity, even when the path was treacherous. Members of the Paladin orders of Uriel have Tlarion as thier icon and model ever since.   Sera - Known as the first of the Bards, she was said to be the first to find Music in the Weave. With a voice that could calm raging storms and a lyre that echoed the heartbeat of the world, she traveled, spreading tales of heroism and love. Her songs are not just melodies; they are the very essence of emotion and memory, passed down through generations. She was known as the chronciler of the Umbra-Nex, much of what is known from thier indivdual and collective stories are from her works, copied on scrolls for thousands of years with her famous Aetherscribe Magic Quill   Valero - The Great Warrior of the March People. Born a Blacksmith's son, he rose to prominence on the battlefield against a rival tribe and eventually became a king of the civilized folk. His leadership on the battlefield was unparalleled, turning the tide of many wars. But it was his humble beginnings and unyielding spirit that made him a true king and leader of the Umbra-Nex.   Gidael - Known for her keenness of mind and quick hands, many love ballads are written about her and Valero's love story. With raven-black hair and eyes that mirrored the night sky, Gidael was as enigmatic as she was brilliant. Her nimble fingers could pick any lock, and her wit could outsmart the most cunning of foes.   Isolryn - A terribly scarred woman, said to have earned her scars fighting hell during the Great Confligration. Strangely rumored to have been a human with horns, she is said to have wielded the forces of nature with a finesse that left both allies and enemies in awe. Her appearance was a stark contrast to her spirit, and the scars that marred her body were badges of her battles against the infernal.   Lysanthe - A cleric of Sybil, the Angel of Grace, known as one of her greatest champions and leaders. His healing touch could mend the gravest of wounds, and his prayers could bring solace to the most tormented souls. As a champion of grace, he led crusades against darkness, ensuring that the light of Sybil always shone bright. Still a major influence on the Old Faith and the importance of the minor angels in the Cosmos.
A very early painting of the Umbra Nex, considered to have been fanciful and likely created decades after the group was no longer active.
