Summary: Manus Brighthide is the first Brighthide chosen to lead the Plainstrider Tribe and is also the first follower of Kyopa to be chosen as well. The Brighthide family was one of the first families to be a part of the Plainstrider tribe when it was formed nearly 210 years ago. The reason for the Brighthide family’s alienation from any form of attempting to become Tribe Chief is because the family being directly related to Reth Vanrar, the Tribe's greatest failure. Despite Manus following Kyopa he does respect Vodinos as a god and prays to him occasionally. Manus went through many trials and fights to even participate in the Chieftain Trials (*3). Manus fought well and earned the respect of the village elders and was voted by them to be the new villager as they saw the potential in Manus and felt it was time for the Brighthide family to be given a chance at redemption. When he became Chief, he was given an ultimatum that if he were to ever fall out of favor with the Elders he would be removed from his new position and for the past 13 years he has surprised the Elders with many good decisions and has led many successful Monster Hunts to keep the tribe safe.
