Veridian Prime

Veridian Prime is what many call a jewel in the galactic cosmos as it is a planet that is almost similar to Earth. The Solar system that Veridian Prime is a part of is very similar to ours. It has seven planets, several dwarf planets and an asteroid belt between the fourth and fifth planets, with the two outer planets being gas giants of similar size to Neptune and Jupiter. The similarity of the two systems resulted in the system getting the name "Solara system." 
It's a planet with diverse climates and abundant water, making it a thriving colony in human space. It was first discovered in 2154, and further research showed promising signs of it being Earth-like. However, the distance of 150 lightyears from Earth resulted in it not being a suitable target for the first FTL discovery expeditions. This left the planet being almost forgotten for close to 200 years when a bored intern at the colony office in Sydney found the page for the planet and forwarded it to their boss who placed the planet in the pile of possible suitable planets for colonization with the first expedition to the planet taking place just three years later and the first colonist landing 15 years later when the planet had been cleared for human habitation.

Climate

Veridian Prime has a wide range of climates resulting from its topography, the planet has a lush tropical rainforest around the equator evolving into temperate zones with open planes and valleys, resulting in frozen tundras around the poles.
The planet also have an orbit and axial tilt that makes the weather on the planet very stable and brings with it a reduced risk of extreme climate events like hurricanes and droughts, making the planet a potential major producer of argriculture.

Fauna & Flora

The planet hosts a rich biodiversity of native flora and fauna, which, after thorough ecological studies that took close to ten years after the discovery of the planet, has been deemed non-threatening to human settlers. Some local plants and animals have become valuable resources for food, medicine, and materials.

Natural Resources

The planet's crust is abundant in valuable minerals, including rare metals crucial for advanced technology and infrastructure. These resources are easily accessible, driving economic growth and making Veridian Prime one of the few colonies that have been profitable from almost the beginning.
