Basic Feywild Rules
Alright, so, there are a lot of rules in the Feywild. Like, a lot. There's absolutely no way I could write all of them down here, but you also won't need to know most of them. So here are the absolute basics:
- Write everything down. When leaving the Feywild, people often forget they were there in the first place, especially if they aren't a native to the plane. It's always good to keep record of everything important that happens so when command asks you what you did on your mission you actually have an answer.
- Don't give away your name. Many fey will try to trick you into giving you their name, so be wary. Do not tell somebody what your name is if they ask directly, such as "what is your name?" or "can I have your name?" If they ask indirectly, such as "introduce yourself," it is sometimes okay, but use your best judgement and err on the side of caution. If you would like to introduce yourself unprompted, use a phrase such as "I am Tempest," not "my name is Tempest."
- Don't try to kill anything that doesn't try to kill you first. This is a good rule in general, but it's especially true in the Feywild. Not everything is as it seems, and creatures can be immensely powerful. Or, they might be sacred to some powerful entity that will bring their wrath upon you. Diplomacy will usually get you further than violence, anyways.
- Don't make a deal unless the conditions are incredibly specific. Don't deal in favors, names, people, or souls. Fey will try their hardest to be vague or exploit loopholes so they come out on top.
- Don't touch or eat things unless you're positive what they are. Plants can explode or come alive and try to fight you. Food can make you sick or give you hallucinations. Rivers can be filled with acid. Again, not everything is as it seems.
