Objective
Scout the East shore and identify the civilization on the island
Observations
Enemy forces have cannons setup on sandbars around the island
Island seems to be highly integrated with the weave
Spellcasting doesn't require any energy, but is potentially dangerous to the caster
Island full of prehistoric creatures, seemingly dinosaurs
Village on eastern shore consisting of progenitor lizardfolk (Did not make contact)
Ruins contain significant historical information and magical theory worth further study

Operation Details
-Took Rowboats in towards east shore
-Virgil spotted some smoke from a nearby island
-Got shot at by a cannon from a sandbar
-Left the boats behind to deal with the cannon fire
-One of the boats was struck by a lucky shot
-Leader of cannon crew was a living bomb
-Repaired boat and advanced onwards towards eastern shore
-Reached East Shore and started moving in to land
-Those connected to the weave felt intense sensation and some were injured by it
-Spellcasting seemed to be replenished and enhanced, if chaotically so
-Found a spot to land and several structures ashore if empty
-Heard thunderous footsteps to the west of the ruins
-Spotted some flame to the south and snuck towards it
-After a bit of advance, spotted several birdlike creatures devouring a corpse
-A few other groups were around eating these creatures
-Lethamyr believes the buildings were made by the first elves
-The creatures seem somewhat doglike in intelligence
-There's a very large avian creature roaming the island
-Probably best to avoid it
-The smaller creatures were numerous, but fragile
-The large avian creature seemed to take notice of us during the fight and began making its way toward us
-Seems to be an island of dinosaurs
-Tried to spook the large bird off with dynamite and it got angry rather than scared
-It attacked and Tavvok was heavily injured in the process
-To the south by the fire seems to be a walled village of snake-like humanoid creatures.
-It seems they're a progenitor of lizardfolk
-Structures have some kind of old Elvish on them
-Tells a story of some type of people
-There's a calendar marked out for 8-9 months with few events marked
-There's some type of description or postulation on the weave or the essence of magic.
-Tide started coming in as we made to leave
-One of the boats was split in half by a cannonball on the way back
