Valesburg

Valesburg is the capital city in the Valesburg Province. The city was built on the bank of a small river flowing from the mountains. The city is divided into two sections by a surrounding 40 feet tall stone wall protecting the inner city and it's more wealthy population. Most of the artisans and shops, as well as the governing and military bodies of the city, are located within the inner walls. Within the inner walls the streets are cleaner and there are no homeless people. People in general seem to be dressed better and are wealthier. A respected guild of Archers, can also be found in the city within the inner walls.   The outer city is home to less wealthy working class. People are generally relatively poor and the city does suffer from any problems that large cities usually suffer from, homeless people and at some areas relatively poor quality of life. There are four gates in each direction to within the inner walls, each manned with guards that ask people who enter for their business.

Demographics

About 70% of the population are human, as is common in the mainland, but due to the city's vicinity to The High-Vale Mountain Range, about 20% of the population are dwarves. The remainder consists of mostly elves and other races.

Government

Count Henley Evercreek runs the city and the region with the aid of his court, and is a direct vassal under the king in Palanthas.

Defences

The city has two walls; one surrounding the entire city, and another surrounding the inner city circle and the upper class district.
