"Towards the southeast region of the island lies a vast expanse of desert. This area is commonly split into two sections, the former being rich with berries and other wildlife. Multiple sources of water are present, and both player and non-player creatures alike are abundant. This area is notably recognized by the layers of sheltering rock formations overlooking the dunes.
The latter, which is a far more arid environment, has topography that is significantly more simple in comparison. It retains a source of fresh water in the center, and berries can be found growing on the outskirts. Moving opposite of the desert's first zone to the far end of the second, a naturally formed cave can be found and utilized for shelter."– Description of the desert on the game's wiki

Southwest of Central Sonaria, a rolling expanse of beige dunes undulate across Agartha’s surface. Sandstone formations rise out of the sands, providing shelter for many of the desert’s inhabitants. Due to their life in such an extreme habitat, these desert-dwellers are some of the hardiest creatures in Sonaria.
Ruled by Arid Pack, the Sandclaw Dunes are renowned for their inhabitants' friendly attitudes and lively celebrations.
