Abishai

"Cunning little creatures, Abishai were at one time seen as nonsentient pests, similar to harpies, but over time have developed their own niche within Izaius'Cu as remarkably numberous dragon-adjacent beings lacking in just precious few things that would make them a draconic being. Longevity and wings."
— The Great Wizard Lorenzo
Abishai are aggressive, inward, yet industrious small humanoid creatures. They are noted for their skill at building traps and preparing ambushes, and mining. They are distantly related to dragons, and are often found serving as their pets or slaves. They can not cross breed with dragons.   Abishais are resentful of their short stature and hated members of other races who poked fun at them for this. Most felt as though they ought to compensate for their small size in other ways, such as humor or aggression. They would naturally tend to hate larger creatures, and although they would show respect and obedience if required, they always looked for ways to display their resentment.   The ultimate goal of the Abishai race was to conquer as much land as possible. They would plan and dig mines industriously, while laying cruel traps for interlopers, preferring an ambush to direct confrontation. If they ever confronted an enemy, they would try to overwhelm foes with sheer numbers. Among the monstrous humanoids, they are known for cunning plans, and unlike many others, would also share those plans among the entire tribe. General plans and goals would be common knowledge, and detailed plans are shared with all who asked to allow them to work fruitfully for the good of the tribe. Their society was influenced by a lawful evil alignment. Abishais are confident and happy to remain separated from the other races.   Where other races considered heroes to be those who enact great feats of strength or military prowess, Abishai heroes are those who showed great prowess in trap setting, torture and ambush.

In Ammeriam... Abishai have organized colonies all throughout Izaius'Cu, and are in constant turf wars with goblinoids in order to maintain their makeshift kingdoms. The Abishai are ruled over by one Great King, named King Magmaul, who seeks to slay every single member of the Flight of the Nine in the (incorrect) notion that he would gain the powers of all of magic, and the Abishai shall rule the world.

In Avalon & Gaia... Abishai are laughing stocks, considered runts who are not on the level as to inherit great draconic power. They are often abandoned as children and they grow up naturally to become criminals because of this social outcasting. They are essentially treated as children throughout their lives, even with the oldest generally getting baby talked or made fun of. They have high exploitation in the black market side of things, as the ones that end up in more nefarious hands are generally butchered to be made into potions which are said to 'increase the draconic genetics in ones reproduction.' This is of course, false, as it is all random, but it is a way to make money out of the desperate and ignorant.

Lifespan
Draconic Mortalis, reaching full maturity at just 1 year, with an average lifespan of 13 years.
