Queen Zenobia

Zenobia was the Queen of Setata during the events of "The Medusean Empress" when she often took part in the numerous conflicts and battles, much unlike her contempories with a station simliar to hers. While various poets have celebrated her differently, common amongst all is that Zenobia was a warrior with no peer and tremendous supporter of education and art.

Personal history

EARLY YEARS   There are no records of Zenobia's early years, but there has been more than a few accounts of her commoner beginnings to a family of fisherman somewhere near Akros. It is understood that Zenobia's family probably relocated during Theros's third cycle of the Endless War against Al Qadar. While it is not known if her family survived the wars, it is apparent sometime during her teenager years she arrived at Setata. It is similarly unclear if Zenobia was her true name, or a name she had been given by the matrons of Ludus Magna, a subsidiary of the infamous Ludus Magnus.   Many records of her exploits at the Ludus Magna remain but are scattered in various epics. The most complete of these epics was by Sappho who herself was a prominent figure in Setata during this time and had a well established school for the young women who were fortunate to be chosen. A few verses from Sappho's epic of Myrmidon war describe a young Zenobia engaging a drunken myrmidon in the market square of Amasya. She was able to corral and disarm the myrmidon while being much smaller and weaker in physical strength. It was noted in a later passage of Sappho's epic, that Zenobia was eventually trained by the Myrmidons and would go on to fight along side them.
