Fernfenn

The northernmost of major Cascadian freeholds, Fernfenn is a mixing it Ookawan and Murkian beliefs. Governed by an elected council, Fernfenn was founded at about the midpoint of the First Age of the Sky by grippli and humans and vanara setting out from the Labriasul Murk and Ookawe. When the two ships, the Ferngully and the Ribbpelfenn, collided by chance and their airships crashed, the two cultures were brought together. Now well past the grumbles of “how could you crash into me, look at how much sky there is!”, Fernfenn grew a culture of spiritualism from Ookawe intermixed with the woodcraft of the Labriasul Murk. In addition to this, an early distaste of air travel following their unlucky crash drove them towards mounted combat. Fennians are known for being some of the best mounted warriors and rangers the world over, with some saying that they're born in the saddle. Presently, Fernfenn enjoys a reputation as an entry point into Cascadia for explorers that is not under Stratos Stormhold control, allowing merchandise to be bought and sold without Stormhold taxation.
