Jaita

A port town north of the Arbean Confederacy, Jaita is a community of explorers and cartographers. Home to perhaps the best guild of mapmakers in Sonis, the Illustrious Brotherhood of Pathfinders. With personal merit being the most important facet of their society, Jaitans are fiercely driven, perhaps even more so than their neighbors to the south. This often leads to explorers from Jaita travelling to even the most remote locations to chart a map of some unheard-of ruin or territory, only to find one of their own has already beaten them there. The individual in charge is nominally the mayor of Jaita and the guild leader of the Brotherhood, and is generally someone in their later life that proved themselves the most capable in their early years. Presently, this is a nagaji named Jyosta Starkeeper, famous for exploring ruins in Ookawe.
