Session 09 -11: Goldcrest

General Summary

Session 9

• Players traveled through the desert to Goldcrest
• Fought some giant scorpions and won
• A Roc flew over them, which according to local legends is a blessing from the Gods
• Arrived in Goldcrest
• Entered the Commerce Hub and chatted with Merchant Princess Sariah Sandstone
• She told them she hated the Obsidian Order and they had recently sunk her ship full of emeralds
• She said the party is free to travel back to Liera with her caravan for safety
• Players left and spent the night at The Oceans Bounty Inn

Session 10

• Players woke up and decided to have breakfast at a new restaurant called the Goblin's Hob
• While waiting for their food the chef (Kaz) burst out of the kitchen screaming that the food was alive
• The players fought several octopuses and crabs that turned into fishermen when knocked unconscious
• Kaz asked the players to investigate
• Players go to the docks and discover the ship used to catch the fish for the Goblin's Hob, abandoned at the end of the dock
• The party goes inside the ship to find it transports them to a mysterious cave that houses a sea hag and her Sahuagin minions
• The party defeats her and escapes the boat, finding a note from the waitress Trina asking the sea hag to destroy the Goblin's Hob
• After discussing their findings with chef Kaz, he confronts Trina who breaks down and describes her family's restaurant that closed after the Goblin's Hob opened
• Kaz sends Trina away and the party helps him run the restaurant for the day
• Players return to The Ocean's Bounty Inn

Session 11

• Five members of the Obsidian Order awake players in their rooms
• After a brutal fight, in which many players were knocked unconscious the party prevails
• It seems the Order was not trying to kill them but to knock them out
• They tie up the captain, and he awakens but can't provide any details as his tongue is cut out
• The captain detonates a disintegrate spell which turns his body and the dead members into piles of ash
• Four rings with the disintegrate spell remain in the piles of ash
• After some time of healing and sleeping the party sets off for breakfast at the Goblin's Hob
• After breakfast, they go see Merchant Princess Sariah Sandstone at the Commerce Hub
• She is surprised to hear they were attacked and decides to set off for Liera that day with the caravan
• The party and Sariah go to the docks to speed up the preparations
• Drast buys 30 bottles of wine, the party stocks up on rations
• After meeting Sariah a few hours later the party and the caravan set off for Liera
• Uneventful travels ensue for a few hours
• At nightfall, they settle down and make camp
• Sariah cooks the party dinner and serves wine
• After going to sleep for the evening, Cerric takes first watch and finds a blade at his neck, and hears the words, "I hate that you're a drow. You don't sleep like the rest of your friends. Now you will come along quietly, or I will slit your throat now" from Sariah
