Session 17: The Rogerson Dig
General Summary
- Players launched a sneak attack on Kaldor and three guards, successfully stifling them with a barrage of weapons, silence, fire, blindness, and tentacles.
- Kaldor flees inside the cave, leaving the remaining guards to be slaughtered.
- The party enters the cave and finds a winding cave system.
- They locate some barracks and retrieve 8 sets of traveling clothes
- They split up but then quickly reunite
- The party finds a small graveyard with a stone coffin and a skeleton inside
- They come to a dead end, which is not a dead end, and find a study.
- Cerrick finds the lost books from the libraries (Ancient Lieran texts)
- Mumph keeps watch
- Zazall finds a statue whose eyes turn icy blue and then back to bronze; he is unable to elicit a response from the statue anymore
- Bork investigates a clock, which seems to count solar and lunar cycles rather than minutes or seconds. The next event is a solstice in 8 days.
- Lilian investigates a wardrobe and finds a hidden door behind it.
- Zazal makes his way behind the wardrobe and finds 4 chests and a giant dragon skull and a strange device
- He opens 3/4 chests, finding emeralds, gold, weapons, and is instantly killed when opening the fourth chest.
- Lilian shapeshifts into Zazal to retrieve the body, and Carrick revives in the nick of time.
- Zazal opens a chest in the study, without checking for traps and falls unconscious, is revived, and opens the chest to find journals, papers, maps, all of which go into the bag of holding.
