The recovery of the amush of Tireless Hall begins to slow down. The teachers begin to send Conservants and older Attendents into the tunnels created by the giant insects. All other students are sent to bed with orders to come back to the hall for instructions tomorrow.

During the aftermath, Gaston's aunt informs him and Teacher Koride she brought a dozen Shadow Mastiffs to get them used to outsiders. She is more than happy to release them into a few of the outer tunnels to deal with any excess insects. She also allows Gaston to pick up one for his slain companion.
