Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Dines is prone to hyperbole and sarcasm. He looks to be in his in his early sixties and has a lean and powerful build. He has a lot of nervous energy. He always appears smartly-dressed and well-groomed, and displays OCD-like tendencies about his personal belongings.
Dines generally believes in doing the right thing, and does feel a duty of care for both the officers under his charge and the community he serves, but is always under a great deal of pressure from above, with a underfunded department that is drowning in a sea of red-tape.
Dines' day to day goal is the smooth running of the department and doing what he can to make the community a little safer. His long term goal, after having given up on dreams of promotion, is to live long enough to retire.
Before being promoted to Station Superintendent Dines had a long career in the field. Should he ever be called to combat, he still retains an exceptional degree of martial prowess.
Dines has a wife, and two grown-up Children, although these all live in Newtown (in The Rise). Dines often stays over in the Station House so does not get to see them as often as he would like.
