The Northern Jungels
A Northern region that boarders The Edren Empire to the south, the Penisular of Chault to the North, the Taifas to the west and the Mordin's Spine Mountains to the east. Famed for it's wild jungles, riches, and dangers.
Geography
The Northern Jungles, also called Chault, are a wild land of rolling hills and mountains completely covered in dense vegetation, rivers that turn to lakes and bogs deepening on the season criss-cross throughout the valley. Rain storms pockmark the land occasionally forming mini-hurricanes. The Atmosphere and vegetation provide life and hide much of the civilization that exists there. Throughout the jungle if one if lucky or knows where to look, one can find lost lizardmen temples that are now hosing a growing Yaun-Ti civilization. You might also find tribes of tortles and Orcs whom still live free in a unmapped region of the empire. There are also Drow ruins from the height of the Taifas that open in to mushroom halls and great underground rivers. There is said, that one of the great rivers, named Miktlampa Ohtli in the Yaun-ti language is supposedly a path from the mainland to the rich port of chault, the hunt for a single clear river path has been the death of many adventurers and expeditions, for whoever knows the path would be rich beyond imagining.
Fauna & Flora
The Atmosphere in the Northern Jungles is factually thicker allowing the development of Mega Flora and Fauna. Here Dinosaurs, great feathered beasts roam through trees the size of spires. Blooms as big as mammoths and carnivorous plants can be found amount the tense foliage. Deadly insects that spread intense illness reek havoc on non-native residents. Swarms of maneating fish swim in it's rivers and it is said some of the trees themselves live and twist up the unmapped jungle ruining any attempt at true exploration. But no life more than the dinosaurs have captured interest providing a range of combat beasts and famed mounts as well as famed exotic pets.
Sentient life include lizardfolk, Yaun-ti, Tortles, and Orcs. Some wood elves also live distantly in the jungle as well as humans who have built outposts and towns such as Novburg and Gold Fort.
Natural Resources
The Northern Jungles are famously rich with untapped resources. Here the conditions for coffee and chocolate growth are ideal, along with Tobacco in the low lands. Further in the jungle a whole industry of capturing dinosaur eggs and raising them as pets manages an influx of wealthy nobles regardless of their poor suitability outside the region. Beyond that the jungles themselves are rich with gold, flecks can be seen in many of the rivers and the temples left behind hold rich treasures.
