Arrdel are a domesticated creature native to the planet
Cirelia, and is commonly kept as a pet.
Appearance
Arrdel have long lanky bodies with a long fluffy tail. They have two pairs of legs, with each paw having four long fingerlike digits with retractable claws. They have round faces with pointed muzzles, a set of dark round eyes, and a small black nose.
Arrdel have short sleek fur which comes in a variety of colors from their generations of domestication and breeding. They may also have patterning, with vertical stripes along their backs being the most common.
Biology
Diet
Arrdel are carnivores and eat small rodents and other small animals which they can easily hunt and catch.
Behavior
Arrdel are social creatures tending to live in colonies or small family groups and are healthiest when they live with at least one other Arrdel. They nest in small spaces that they find and can fit in, and most of the time they will sleep in groups but go off to hunt and eat on their own.
They hunt and capture their food alone, often by going into their prey’s burrows and catching them that way; they often eat alone as well unless they have young offspring in which case they’ll bring their catch back to their nest.
Arrdel have offspring, called kits, in litters of three to six on average, and the mother will care for the offspring until they are old enough to take care of themselves. Once the offspring are adult they will often remain in the same group as their mother and will still have a relationship with them. The father may or may not be involved, but tends to be less paternal and sees their offspring as just another member of their colony or group.
Uses
Arrdel are domesticated animals and are often kept as pets and also may be used as pest control on farms and in storage places.
