The Epran Planetary Union is a supernational political union made up of the various countries present on the planet of
Epra.
Members of the union stay separate each with their own laws a powers. However, some powers are governed by the union mostly in terms of economics and trade.
Union High Council
The Union High Council -also called the planetary high council- is a council made up of representatives sent by the various member countries. Each member country gets one seat to represent them on the council.
A council leader -called a chairman- is selected via vote from the current council members, after they a selected they are supposed to be an unbiased leader for the council balancing each country's needs as well as the council’s needs. After rising to the rank of Chairman their previous seat will be filled by a new member.
This senate is responsible for ratifying certain documents and agreements, crafting proposals to later be ratified, and trying and ensure stability between the member planets through its actions. It basically functions as its executive and legislative branches, trying to balance the power equally.
They are also incharge of declaring war, as well as holding many other executive powers, however, a majority vote is often needed to use them especially when it comes to warfare.
The council is also incharge of selecting the planetary representative that will be sent to represent Epra at the Galactic Coalition House of Representatives, as well as selecting people for other positions such as the Union Judicial Court judges, etc. In most cases, a majority vote is needed to confirm nominees in their positions.
The Union Judicial Courts
The Union Judicial Courts are the judicial branch of the Epran Planetary Union that is incharge of reviewing the actions of the Union High Council to ensure its actions are legal according to union laws, maintains that the member countries all comply with the Union’s laws, and interpret the laws of the union if there is any conflict about it.
Members of the courts, the judges, are selected for the position by the Union High Council and confirmed for it via a vote. They need to be confirmed by a majority vote in order to get the position.
