Faith of Daana
The Faith of Daana, also called Daanism, is a religion whose followers, called Daanists, believe in a great force called Daana. It is a Panentheistic spirituality, where the members believe that a higher power, which they call Daana, is the driving force between everything and responsible for all existence.
This higher power is called Daana and is seen as more of a force of nature rather than a conscious living thing. Depending on the religious branch they may believe that Daana is purely benevolent or more Ambivalent, in the sense that they are neither purely good nor purely evil.
Religion and its beliefs are quite common across the galaxy, and its origins are unknown and may have been an amalgamation of religious and philosophical ideas from multiple planets. It is the dominant spirituality on Cirelia, and many other human-settled planets, showing there may be some sort of connection there.
Daanism is also a Transtheistic religion meaning that it never denies or confirms the existence of any gods, making it very easy for non-Daanist cultures to adopt and merge with their own spiritual practice which may or may not include deities or spirits of some sort.

Locations & Practices
Practicing Daanists don’t normally have an altar or anything in their home but may have religious art and effects. People commonly see prayer as a form of religious contemplation rather than communication with a sentient deity and as such don’t see the need for any specific religious articles for themselves or their living space, but they still may see these items as thought-provoking and sentimental. More public places of worship such as temples and monasteries are where most practitioners go for worship. While there, the local priest may give lectures and lead prayers as a part of common worship practices. Monasteries are also home to organizations devoted to religious worship, with one of the more notable orders being the Cirelian Sisterhood from Cirelia.Funerals
Funerals in the Faith of Daana are simple and quick, with little pomp. This is due to the belief that once a person dies their soul or essence leaves their body and the body is essentially an empty husk. This does not mean that the deceased are not treated with respect, it simply means that members of the faith do not see a point in grand expensive funerals. After death, the body will be washed and wrapped in a shroud with funeral rites like prayers being done. Traditionally, The body will then be cremated, often within twenty-four hours of death. Modernly the time between death and cremation may differ, with many families now holding visitations and wakes for the deceased.Hierarchy
The Faith of Daana, at least traditional sects, has a stratified rank system of spiritual scholars. These scholars can be any gender, although certain monasteries or monastic orders may only allow people of a certain gender. The job of these scholars is to guide and teach religious study and contemplation of Dannists as well as to reflect and contemplate on religious philosophies. The highest-ranking scholars are also supposed to guide their individual community (often a whole region of a planet) as a whole. Habt - the Habt is the highest rank of religious scholar, and all of the Habts make up a religious council that provides guidance to their Daanist community.Arroten - the Arrotens are established religious scholars, they have a good amount of influence.
