Nalmiri Tree
The Nalmiri Tree is a fruit-growing tree that is native to Thunus and is grown on many other planets.
Appearance
The Nalmiri tree is a tall tree, often growing to over fifteen feet tall, with a small canopy mostly congregated at the top of the tree’s tall trunk. It has smooth purplish bark that grows in thin papery layers with lots of horizontal texture and round dark green leaves. The tree grows small white four-petled flowers, often blooming in the spring. The flowers develop into small teardrop-shaped fruits with soft pink flesh and purple skin. The fruit also has a fruit stone, or pit, which is located at the center of the fruit and encloses the plant's seed. When the fruit is overripe it falls from the tree, allowing the pit to be planted. The plant has a deep root system, which can make the tree quite hard to remove if they are not wanted.Uses
The Nalmiri tree is often grown for its fruit as well as as an ornamental tree in gardens and parks. They may be grown in orchards as well so that their fruit can be easily obtained. Their blossoms may be used as decoration and in floral arrangements. The bark of the tree may be used in making traditional Thunese containers, but this use has fallen out of fashion unless someone wants a very traditional historic container. The fruit of the Nalmiri tree, often just called a Nalmiri, is used in lots of Thunese cuisines, particularly in sweet dishes and desserts, a good example is a dish made from fermented Nalmiri fruit. They may also be dried, often by hanging them in the sun to dry, and eaten as a snack; these dried fruits may also be covered in sugar to make a sweet candy. The fruit may also be eaten unprepared, with the person simply needing to be careful of eating around the pit, or prepared into jams and sauces to be used as an ingredient or topping. The fruits, especially when overripe and fallen from the tree, are eaten by many Thunese creatures including the Spiked Khivin and the Troni Lizard.
