The Tiq’en are a humanoid species native to Epra.
Physiology
Tiq’en are humanoid with two arms and legs and five digits on each hand or foot, however, they have digitigrade legs, meaning that they walk on their toes and their legs are built much differently than humans and other humanoid species.
They are taller than most humans, often standing around seven feet tall, and have reddish-brown and beige coloring with stripe-like markings, they often have darker pigmentation on parts of the body often exposed to the sun like the top of the head, the arms, and their back. It is believed that these skin tones helped them to blend in with their environment and also help them to stay cool in hotter climates. There may be regional variation in skin tones.
They have small hornlike features along their hairline and some along their forehead and nose. Males also have small horns-spikes on their jaws. They also have sharp canines and large somewhat catlike ears. These ears allow them to hear better and from farther away.
Their hair, which grows behind their horns, is normally brown or black and is often curly or wavey. This of course does not apply if the person has lost or doesn’t grow hair for some reason or shaved their head.
Due to their physiology, particularly their legs, they tend to be quite athletic and are able to run quite fast due to the way their legs are composed.
The Tiq’en also have some different internal organs, such as a much stronger stomach lining which allows them to eat foods that are generally hard to digest. This allows them to eat much more fibrous plants and plants that other species would not be able to eat.
Other Traits
Tiq’en are omnivorous, but they require a high protein intake in their diet so they need to incorporate a lot of meat or other protein-rich foods into their diet. Due to this Tiq'en cuisine is fairly meat-heavy, using other types of food as side dishes or toppings.
The Tiq’en live around the same as humans, on average living to ninety years old.
