Invention of the Fusion Drive

Inspired by their voyage, Martian scientists perfected the design that had brought them to their new home. They finally unveiled the Fusion Drive and quickly spread the device amongst other nomadic communes around Earth.
The miracle of the engine was its effectiveness and speed. No longer would it take months to reach Mars from Earth but instead would only take weeks at most. The solar system shrunk that day, and in the years that would follow, Nomad Communes, Martian Explorers, and Earth and Luna corporations and governments would launch their own colonizing missions to the Asteroid Belts, and outer planets of the Sol System.
