Luna Exodus

Several hundred years before the discovery of the gates, humanity funds the Luna Colonial Expedition, setting in motion events that would still ripple centuries after. As Earth is continually spirals into more an more ecological disaster, an initiative is funded by a handful of Earth Governments coupled with "donations" given by wealthy benefactors seeking a ride off of the planet.
Service personnel is brought on through a lottery system.
