Mechanicus Jihad

The growing number of AI and Androids scattered and used as essential slave labor engage in widespread uprising that occured even in isolated pockets of the galaxy. Many of these uprisings were not connected, but brought on by the loosening grip left by the silence.
These uprisings lead to the purging of robotics and AI in almost all of settled space. Because of the gates being locked, some regions were left untouched by the uprisings, usually areas that allowed androids some form of freedom. The struggle lasts well into the silence.
