The Red Spring

In roughly 2132 Pre-Silence, a plague known as the Red Influenza, Red Sickness, or simply as "The Sick", was caused by the ever growing toxic spill leaking into the Arctic Ocean on Earth. Over the spawn of more than a decade, 4 billion people of all ages die, a third of Earth's population. It is called the Red Spring ironically, as people were told it would only last the spring.
The following political upheavals would inevitably cause the Red Birth.
