The Third Imperial Crusades

The Third Crusades of the Empire are to some historians "the final death thrashes of a dying beast." Rather than some concentrated effort by the Federal Imperial Court, the campaigns of the Third Crusades were conducted by rogue imperial warlords. Admirals and generals formed raiding parties, claiming new titles for themselves and challenging not only the treaties established with the Union, but also with the Imperial Authority itself.   These would end when the rogue warlords would be ruthlessly hunted down and put to death by the efforts of the Imperial Judges and Imperial Intelligence. Rumors also persist of the Empire propping up the Federation to put pressure on the warlords who were claiming territory of Terminus.   This actually would lay the foundations of the covenant of man.
