Global Geography

Speculum is a planet shaped in the image of Earth. The world map is much the same and cities and country boarders were established in much the same location.

Geography

The idea behind Speculum was to provide Earth with a differing origin point and to shape cultures and countries through the wills of the divine rather than the will of politicians and church. Rather than the traditional map of Earth there are some different additions to the world; scars left my the release of immense arcanic energy, pocket dimensions to [url=]The Feywild or [url=]The Hellscape to lost ruins or [url=]Holy Sites ravaged by divine wars long since forgotten.

Mesopangea

Before the Age of Absolution the world was established as Mesopangea which was a singular continent that consisted of three Primoridal Palaces and two that existed outside of the continent. These three palaces marked the capital of each country each of which were ruled by a Primorial.
The largest domain was that of Ki's Solaria which consisted of craggy mountainous zones providing little flora but much cave dwelling fauna. This zone had number of active volcanos and then at the upper most space Mauna Loa housed the Primordial Place of Ki.
The second largest zone was that of Amazonia which was lush and diverse forrest land which house much of the planets flora and fauna. Deep within this jungle was Kisar's Primordial Palace Machu Picchu which overlooked the land and the creatures that resided in it.
The last and most modest of countries that made up Mesopangea was Uru home of Anu the Primordial of Life and Death. This land was absent and ghostly. Few ventured its desert landscape but those who did set up nomadic camps transitionally to fulfill the primordial's needs.
At the Age of Absolution as the primordials began to fall the mother Tiamat with the assistance of her life partner Apsu tore the continent asunder and began separating the land mass into smaller chunks. This was with the intent of separating the Hume and Beastkin alike to prevent their vast numbers however the transforming did not go as fast as they hoped with their reduced power. Even after the fall of the Primordials the planet continued to shift and separate.

Continents

North America

North America is made up of two countries divided almost in half. Originally the continent was populated by Beastkin primarily however in the Age of Philosophy the colonization began and cities were established across NA reducing the population of Beastkin sending those more bestial in hiding and assimilating those who walk the boarder between beast and Hume. Only 30% of the continent is populated but those cities are large and dense.

South America

South America hold many smaller countries of varying races but mostly Beastkin in well established cities. These areas are considered high tourist attractions showing varied cultures and is known for its exotic food and crafts with much flora grown that is unable to sprout in other lands. The countries here are at a tentative peace but are recovering from wars and strife. This was once the site of the seat of war hosted by the god Michael.

Africa

Africa is half dense rain forest and half desert land. This continent is heavily populated with Beastkin, Hume and beast alike and known for being the most untamed area of the world with high risk of goblin or orc raiding, wild beasts wiping out whole settlements and in country wars. Many adventuring companies will send new recruits to this zone with a couple well established adventurers as relief services to help them get a taste for battle and diplomacy while providing much required charity work to struggling settlements.

Europe

Europe is a dense space that occupies the land north of Africa and east of Asia. It spans from Ukraine to Portugal and contains a number of very diverse countries. These countries consist of many different Hume predominant cultures and races that have always blended lines. In the age of Philosophy cultures were kept separate in the hopes to create individual rich culture and cities to diversify each country however since the lines have blurred and migration has created cultural melting pots allowing symbiosis. Tensions in more recent years are rising now due to resource tensions and fears.

North Asia

North Asia is much of the snow laden mountain and crag area from the area east of Ukraine and north of China. There are more Mountainous Hume out in these areas often hardened to extreme cold weather and sparse mountain lands. Ores and manufacturing is most of what this continent brings to global trading known for master crafts and research. It is the current home to Pisces in her University of Astral Exploration and Arcane Inclination.

South Asia

South Asia is a diverse jungle land with unique beasts and animals that is known for exotic foods and pelts. Within SA is rare and reclusive Veiran people who live on the isolated continent of Japan within its lush forests known for their deep connection to the land and fierce protection of the land.

Oceania

Oceania is home to an archipelago of islands, Australia and New Zealand which all of which can be considered highly dangerous areas. The archipelago is known for being a deadly ocean zone filled with deadly beasts and is rumored for being home to an enchantress who lures travelers to their doom. Australia is the final resting zone of the last Primordial Anu who's carcass remains on the ruins of his Primordial Palace on Uluru. The country is home to the most concentrated population of Dragonborn and the desert surrounding Uluru is heavily haunted and very dangerous to traverse without proper blessings or on pilgrimage. Finally New Zealand is known for the homeland to the worlds most well known artists the Maori people who are skilled singers, poets and performers who travel the world using their words and voices to bolster soldiers, calm riots or aid political tensions.
