Session 8 Living on the Edge Report
General Summary
The party's ship the Second Wind is attacked by an esthetic belonging to the reigar Celestial Hastain, a long time ally of the Xaryxian Empire. It was he who marked the adventurers' home for destruction. He attacks the party by using dimension door to arrive on the ship with his Xaryxian ally Aralios Holidor. Hastain and his Talarith induced duplicate are grappled by Rickon and blugend by Starbough, the ship's treant, Holidor is equally trounced by Sandy. After Hastain is killed and his duplicate rendered unconscious his esthetic jammerscreams the Second Wind causing substantial injury to Wilhelm and rendering the Spelljammer helm unusable. Then its creator dead it flees.
From the truth spell charmed Hastain duplicate the party learns that the Xaryxian sun is dying, which is why the Astral Elves use the crystal vines to destroy worlds and somehow continue to power their dying sun. It knows of no way to stop the process.
After a long rest the part lassos a kindori from a passing pod. Using Animal Handling they manage to get the kindori to tow the Second Wind to the asteroid where Topolah's tower is located. This old friend of Krux is glad to have visitors. She shows them her tower, but when she finds they need a map of Doomspace admits she has none. She does offer to trade them a Wildspace Orrey a wondrous item which can display whatever wildspace system it is in, with a white pulsating light to mark the orrey's location, the perfect navigation device. In return they must kill Big Momma, a void scavver who is harassing Topolah's birds and the tower itself.
The party agrees.
