Alhazine
It is a common idea that there is a sort of continual growth among people. That the current era is a result of progress and that it will continue to grow from there. But such linear growth is, in truth, unrealistic. And the finding of the Alhazine language proves this.
A very rare, few preserved ruins, most famously in Rendale Forest, have had remnants of this ancient language. The name Alhazine comes from Alhaz, which is believed to be the name of this ancient civilization, which spread across multiple spheres before suddenly collapsing during some cataclysmic event. The language has only begun to be documented, with a combination of magic and linguistics serving to bring understanding.
Between the ruins and the language, it is widely agreed that the Alhaz was an empire from the mythic times that had set out to create a nation across spheres. That they could fall apart so utterly that their existence has only been found in trace amounts is rather frightening. After all, if they fell, perhaps others have too. Perhaps the current known history is just yet another of many, which might just as easily vanish.
Thus, the uncovering of the Alhazine language is not only a matter of linguistical archeology, it is also driven by a desire to learn what ended those who spoke it, that perhaps their fate may never be repeated.
Geographical Distribution
Presumably spread across multiple spheres alongside the empire.
