Creatures and Cultures of Vastiaria

Creatures and Cultures of Vastiaria started out as an attempt by Alexa Helman the Sagacious, a self-taugh historian, biologist and folklorist, to document the diverse lifeforms and landscapes of Vastiaria. But as she travelled, more than ever, she became familiar with the often bloody history of her home sphere.   Alexa eventually came to believe that while diversity was a great source of Vastiaria's uniqueness, it was also a source of a lot of conflicts. People were so different, there was little common ground and it lead to a lot of misunderstandings and horrid assumptions. Determined to try and help, she expanded the scope of her writings to also include the cultures and beliefs of the people she met.   Creatures and Cultures of Vastiaria is the result of the eight year journey that followed. The document is not perfect and by the time it was published, some of the cultures depicted had been so radically altered that there was no longer any resemblence. None the less, it is a thourough study and some claim it has indeed helped foster understanding where none were before.   Alexa Helman herself has considered penning a sequel, though such adventures are getting harder in her advanced age.

Purpose

Creatures and Cultures of Vastiaria documents a wide array of lifeforms native to the sphere of Vastiaria. With sapient creatures, great effort has been put into interviewing and representing their views and cultures. It is as comprehensive as any document of the ever changing political landscape of Vastiaria can be.
