Gelignite

As development of explosives became more and more refined, their usage became more common. And with that commonality came a higher degree of accidents. Dwarven  alchemists, seeking to create safer explosives, created the gelignite as an alternative to dynamite, which had been a quarry favorite for a while. This alchemical explosives quickly saw widespread use, even outside of dwarven civilisation. It quickly became a household explosive, so to say, though the refined gelignite made by the dwarves is still the best available.
Outside of working the earth, gelignite also saw military use as demolition charges, easily used to take down enemy structures or occasionally as an emergency explosive hurled at the enemy.

A standard set of alchemist tools can be used to craft common gelignite. Refined gelignite requires more advanced tools, usually found in better equipped alchemy labs.
