Spring Spear
The spear has always been a valuable tool in combat, keeping enemies at bay and aiding in piercing armor. The goblins , however, felt that there was room for improvement.
The spring spear is a standard goblin infantry weapon, a simple mechanism added to the spearhead that, when trigger, increases the penetrative power of the spear by launching the spearhead forward. The only downside is that the springhead has a tendency to get stuck once launched and occasionally the spring mechanism shatters, sending the pointy end flying wildly through the air. Goblins thus tend to wait with triggering until they are sure it will do some damage.
The shaft is normally made of metal, so that it can double as a club should the spearhead be dislodged.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
The spearhead is placed on a spring mechanism, which is then locked in place. A push of the button unlocks the spring, launching the spearhead forward.

Spring spears are built quickly by a series of artisans, each of which finish their part and passes it on.
