Undying Beasthide

It is but natural to wish for what one doesn't have. And so it is that many species looks at others with envy. Humans are no different. Compared to many species, they are relatively frail, drawing power from ingenuity and cooperation rather than overwhelming strength and toughness. But where there is a will there is a way.
By calling upon the spirit of a slain animal, shamans can confer some of its qualities upon those who would don its hide. The undying beasthide is made from a creature of great health and vitality, bested in a hunt. Once properly invoked, the hide armor becomes as tough as if it was made of metal plates. It further confers some of their legendary endurance to the wearer and those bearing this armor has been known to rise from blows that would make mincemeat of anyone else.

Manufacturing process

First the skin is carefully cured and designed into armor. Then the spirit of the beast is ceremonially evoked to confer its toughness onto the wearer to enchant the armor.
