Water Elemental

Born of the waves and the waters, water elementals are placid, relaxed beings, usually happy to let life take them where it may. They are flexible, adaptable beings, as amorphous of mind as they are of body. This relaxed state of calm and going with the flow seem to affect the way they handle any given task. A water elemental rarely truly mess up, but they also rarely truly excel. That is not to say water elementals never do anything or take action. Certainly, they'd take grave offence to, for example, the destruction of their homes. And when roused they can be fearsome indeed.
In combat, water elementals are merciless, blasting opponents with pressurized water to either knock them off their feet or cut them in half. If their foe breathes air, they are likely to just grab them and drown them in their own body. They prefer to fight within the water, where they have many advantages, but should an opponent flee, they will usually let them unless they have a good reason not to.

Anatomy

Water elementals are an amorphous, animated puddle of water. Being composed of fluid, most physical dangers have little impact on them. Most mortal concerns, be it bleeding, diseases, poison and so on, simply does not affect them. However, fire can cause them significant harm, boiling away their body. They are also careful about moving too far of water, especially in warm areas, as the slow evaporation of their bodies makes them more vulnerable to harm. On the other hand, a water elemental found deep under the sea is near invulnerable. Being amorphous, their body can easily contort to allow them to enter even them smallest of spaces. They are naturally also excellent swimmers and they become practically invisible when submerged in water.

Water elementals live in areas with a lot of water. Oceans and big lakes are the primary places, but marshes and other wetlands can also suit them. As guardians of the waters, the yseek to prevent disruptions, such as overfishing or pollution.
