Weaverkin Tsuchigumo

Weaverkin tsuchigumo are the most common among the tsuchigumo and the most widespread, leading some to theorize that they may be the first kind to be created by their pantheon. Weaverkin are highly nomadic and filled with wanderlust, showing much more of a preference for spreading out rather than clustering. While their bonds are as close as that of their kindred arachnids, the road calls to them and weaverkin only settle down for more than a season if the area really speaks to them.   Living on the road, weaverkin tend to be pragmatic and often learn a variety of useful skills. This leads them to sometimes take up oddjobs to make ends meet and they are among the more sociable of their kind, even if most races still find them unnerving. Their inherent magic tend to be similar, focusing on practical and simple spells that can help them manage with few ressources.   In battle, they prefer to start a fight only after their prey has blundered into their trap, quickly descending to inject their venom. If attacked without a web, such as while wandering, they are more cautious and will run off if they aren't sure they can take whatever threatens them.

At this point, their exoskeleton has fully developed and they'd have grown to around three-fourths of their adult size. Weaverkin tend to be more nomadic than other types and many end up moving quite a distance away from their family when the yfirst head out. Tsuchigumo are fully grown by their fourteenth year.

Ecology and Habitats

Dietary Needs and Habits

Weaverkin tsuchigumo are primarily carnivores with a liquid diet requirement. Prey is usually caught in web traps or ambushed, then injected with venom. This substance not only kills the prey, it also liquifies their body, allowing the weaverkin to slurp it up. They also sometimes add fruit juice or diluted honey to their diet.
