Tambassa sandsnake

The tambassa is a highly venomous snake that can grow up to two yards long and to have fangs two inches long. The intricately camouflaged scales make the tambassa an ideal ambush predator. The skin looks like the tumbling rocky dessert of Ehry’kinae and they will often bury themselves into loose ground to make their hiding place even more effective.

Skilled Bahkradi are able to spot the tell-tale signs of disturbed ground which betray a tambassa’s hiding spot. However, there have been many occasions where unwary travellers have wandered too close to a tambassa and received a fatal bite.

An antidote to the cardiacrid venom can be obtained, but only form first capturing a tambassa snake and milking it. The milk is then added to a concoction of sundergrass, sparkpollen and sandbison faeces for the antivenom to ferment. This knowledge is coveted by the Bahkradi wise women and known by few others.
