Garamanti expansion war

The attempted expansion of Garamant is to this day the most significant military battle in recent times. culminating in the contraction it was a sobering defeat for the city of locks and a moment of reflection for the entirety of spindle.     Important Events.   Spring 1496 - Garamant Bolsters its defences and the first encroachment starts, initially targeting Jostoli, the  perceived weakest of the four.   Autumn 1496 - Having gained ground and successfully holding the line 10 miles into Jostoli, Garamamt pushes into Vezadran.   Spring 1498 - Garamant now fighting a war on two fronts, opens the third, Malanate, and fourth, Kwilsto, hoping that the sudden attack will allow them to hold enough ground to being the expansion.    Summer 1498 - Lakoti of the Keys begins their attempt to expand their domain. The Four leaders of the invaded nations call a summit, which is headed by the Vox of the Schism, at this summit an alliance is agreed and the four nations redouble their efforts, focusing all their forces on a single border, that of Jostoli, this sudden attack does nothing and the initial expansion of Lakotis domain occurs, in this first ritual 5 miles is gained in all directions.    Autumn 1498 - The Alliance of the Four request peace talks with Garamant, they decline. Following this the Four request aid from the Vu'ko'Kita and Hapatic Schism, both agree and the war steps up to another level.   Winter 1498 - Seti of the Vu-Ko-Kita formally takes charge of the battle strategy, and within a half cycle the tide of battle begins to turn.   Autumn 1499 - Seti, along with their two best lieutenants and a Maji, infiltrate the city of Garamant in an attempt to assassinate the head of the church of Lakoti. Arriving in the cathedral of Lakoti they discover that the leader is actually Lakoti in mortal form, a near killing blow is struck but Lakoti retracts, triggering the Contraction. the war is ended.

The Conflict

Prelude

Before the conflict started there was a long period of unrest, the Garamanti spent a lot of time on their borders, initiating talks with each of their four neighbours about the other three. In hindsight this seems to have been an effort to divide them.

Outcome

The alliance of four won, and Garamant was forced to recede.

Aftermath

The first time in history that a local god's power had been stretched so thinly that they have had to pull back from the edges of their domain, leaving it dead and lifeless. Garamant is now surrounded on all sides by a vast band of dead land almost 100 miles wide, a place unable to sustain life and dangerous even to cross.

Strength

At the start of the conflict Garamant was the strongest of all the nations by quite some distance, their military might shored up with the extremely defensive divine powers that their god provides.
At the start of the conflict the four nations were all individually trying to combat Garamant alone, each one more concerned with survival of their own nation that preventing the expansion of Garamant. After 1498 when the four officially agreed their alliance, their true strength showed itself.

Casualties

The losses on the Garamant side were huge, but not from the conflict, at the moment of the contraction when the god receded in an attempt to bolster its strength tens of thousands of people on the front lines died, their life energy being drawn away along with the power of the land in that moment. this sacrifice is the only reason that the City of Garamant still stands, and the god still lives.
The losses across the four nations were substantial but none were in vain.

Objectives

To expand the influence of Lakoti of the Keys, their god, and potentially absorb the lands of the other surrounding land gods.
